INCA Legislative Priorities for 2012

Indiana Conservation Alliance, of which INPAWS is a member, supports these priorities for the 2012 legislative session. Please call or write your legislators in support of these legislative initiatives, or meet them in person at INCA’s Conservation Day at the Statehouse January 24:

Legislation to restrict the use of phosphorus in lawn fertilizers. A bill to restrict phosphorus in lawn fertilizers and educate consumers has been introduced by Rep. Dick Dodge (HB 1032). Please contact your legislators and encourage them to support this bill.

Legislation authorizing local governments to offer clean energy financing options, including PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) bonds, which are an innovative mechanism for financing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

On-going priorities are:

Continued support for the Indiana Heritage Trust (IHT), the state’s only dedicated land acquisition program for conservation.

Continued support for Clean Water Indiana (CWI), a program to protect and enhance the water quality of Indiana’s lakes, rivers and streams.

I think that it would be a msakite to give our property rights up like that to the government! Mining and dredge mining has NO i repeat No effect on the trout spawning after many many studies . So tell me why you wouldn't want to go out and claim the gold that is rightfully ours? Is it that you are too lazy? Get a grip because it's the begining of a takeover of our property as we know it. Try fighting for a real cause like getting our troops back home. As far as the miners not cleaning up their messes goes i'm sure there are a few but from what i seen when i was in the Siskyou National Forest was that it was all nice and kept up. It's the off roaders you want to get for killing trees by off roading where there are no roads. Thank you for your time
