Southwest Chapter Event—Plant Conservation Day!

The Southwest Chapter of INPAWS will partner up with Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden in Evansville, IN for Plant Conservation Day to host an invasive plant education opportunity this Saturday, May 19.

Many activities are planned, including a Kudzu pull from invaded trees. Also, a competitive Sky Art Photo will be taken in the Kudzu patch, participants are asked to wear red shirts for the photo. We need 200 volunteers for the photo as our photo  will compete with other Zoos across the country for the best for Plant Conservation Day Sky Art. Lunch has been donated by our sponsor and will be served to everyone after the photo. Native trees will be planted in the Zoo after lunch as part of the 2012 Trees in 2012 Bicentennial Celebration. Master Gardeners are giving out sunflower planter cups in the Zoo and much more. Join us…the fun starts at 8:30 am and goes all day!
