Hike Eagle’s Crest Nature Preserve, Marion County, September 5

The Division of Nature Preserves is teaming up with some of our partner organizations and land trusts to hold a series of hikes on nature preserves. The partner for this hike is the Indiana Native Plant and Wildflower Society. Hike leader will be John Bacone, Director of Nature Preserves.

Eagle’s Crest Nature Preserve contains excellent examples of old second-growth mesic upland forest communities dominated by red oak, sugar maple, beech, white oak, shagbark hickory, and ash.

The shoreline along the preserve’s east side is an excellent area for observing bird life.

When: 9/5/2015

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Leader: John Bacone, (317) 232-4054, jbacone@dnr.in.gov

I registered earlier, but will not be able to attend the event. Have been called out of state. Want to make "room" for others.

Tom Swinford (me!) will be leading an additional hike along with John at Eagle's Crest Nature Preserve- thanks for all your support! So yes, we do have additional capacity for the hike that should be online now.

Am I to late to add 3.

John Bacone tells me the hike registration has been reopened, as he was able to secure an additional guide. You may want to wait a day or two for the DNR website to catch up, as it still shows registration closed.

Can you do anything to enlarge the registration for the September 5th hike? Or add a second group? I was disappointed when I tried to register and page says its full.
