Outreach at Public Events
Every member of INPAWS is a potential ambassador to the public.
We invite any of you to set up an INPAWS display at your local gardening or conservation event, using outreach materials that we provide. All you need is a table on which to set up the INPAWS display or poster and lay out brochures.
Following are some examples of shows and events at which INPAWS regularly has a presence.
Conservation Day at the Statehouse (January/February)
Flower and Patio Show (March)
Earth Day Indiana (April)
Master Gardener Events (April/May)
INPAWS Annual Conference (November)
For more information about opportunities to participate in outreach to the public, contact your regional chapter leader.
Greeting the public from an INPAWS booth is always interesting. You never know what kinds of questions you’ll be asked and people you’ll meet.
Booth duty is a great chance to share your enthusiasm and to learn how best to engage the public with INPAWS and native plants. We can benefit from your experiences—please share them on the INPAWS blog.
To give public outreach a try, contact your regional chapter leader to volunteer for local events where INPAWS should have a presence.
