Welcome! We are the Indiana Native Plant and Wildflower Society. Our mission is to promote the appreciation, preservation, conservation, utilization and scientific study of the flora native to Indiana and to educate the public about the values, beauty, diversity and environmental importance of indigenous vegetation. Attention - new invasive plant in Indiana! Be on the lookout for an aggressive mustard that has just been found in Indiana for the first time, and is known from one county in Michigan - Cardamine impatiens (Narrow-leaved bitter-cress). Douglas Tallamy, author of Bringing Nature Home: How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in Our Gardens, will be the keynote speaker. Douglas W. Tallamy is Professor and Chair of the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. Chief among his research goals is to better understand the many ways insects interact with plants and how such interactions determine the diversity of animal communities.
